Another spot of Knitting

My sister went away for the weekend and found me some more wool as our Spotlight had run out.
I wanted this black and white and she I love the pink and purple she bought me too.
Love how they knit up and so quickly

Add Knitting to my Craft List

Not that I do a lot of knitting but I can do a little, so after ducking into Spotlight the other weekend for my MIL, I decided to get a ball of this Mesh Wool and have a go.  It's only 6 stitches and took me approx. 2 hours to complete.
Love the way it's turned out and it will be light enough to still wear in Summer for a splash of colour.
My sister rang me from Albury today to see what other colours I would like as she found some at their Spotlight.  Our Spotlight has run out :)  Popular scarves.  More to come soon.

Welcome Back I.N.X.S

Over the years I haven't been to many concerts so it's nice to do it now.
I knew I'd be able to sing along to all the OLD songs and the new songs were ok too.
Ciaran Gribbin did a great job as new lead singer
Kirk Pengilly hasn't changed and the Farriss Bros. were awesome
And how surprised were we to have Ciaran join us for Breakfast
Ok, he was at another table and looked a bit daggy :)
But he was at the same coffee shop

A new project

With my SKoW up-to-date, I thought I could start a new project. Our lounge needs some new cushion covers, so I went through my quilting magazines and found Jenny's Hydrangeas. I would love them in purple but that won't match our decor so redwork it is. Love how quickly it coming along.

Productive Weekend

My weekend began with a lot of little squares as you saw in my previous post
With our cold weather, I found some left over fabrics and made our puppy a new rug... and then fell asleep inside by the heater
Lots of stitching and two more SKoW blocks completed

With the sun shining, it was a good opportunity to take the bike out
With my dear friend home from Overseas, I had to get her cushion completed.  I'm sure she will LOVE her special present.
Now they say a change is as good as a holiday
so it was time to change our lounge room around
BEFORE
 AFTER
So much more room and lets more light into the house
Now back to some hand sewing and a relaxing afternoon with a movie.
Hope everyone else has had a great weekend too.

I'm a bit late with my SKoW

As part of the Stitch-A-Long group, I'm supposed to put these blocks together as I go.... I didn't like the idea of cutting and sewing all those little squares, so it's taken me a while and I don't know why?
I've had so much fun sewing today

On to July Block

An my final June block too.
Back to the sewing machine tomorrow :)

Potato and Bacon Soup

I tried a beautiful recipe by Jane @ Sweet Cinnamon Stitches.
It was so nice
POTATO & BACON SOUP
250g Potatoes
30gms butter (only for cooking onion & bacon)
1 Onion
2 bacon rashes
2 1/2 cups water
2 beef stock cubes
Salt & Pepper
1 tablespoon of chopped parsley

Peel potatoes & cut into 2cm cubes
Heat butter in a saucepan, add peeled & sliced onion & chopped bacon
Cook until onion is golden & bacon is crisp
Add potato, cook, stirring a few minutes
Add water, crumbled stock cubes, salt & pepper
Bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer for 30 minutes
Remove from heat, blend until smooth then stir through parsley
