With Summer fast approaching we decided it was time to cool the house down from the outside. My Sister & Brother-In-Law made us these wonderful blinds.... I can feel the difference already.

We already had these cheap roll up blinds and we have had them hung on the guttering which hasn't been very successful but we made do.
Our Family Room Window - AFTER (The fabric is like mesh and the dark fabric allows your eyes to focus on outside and you can still see the back yard - Very clever)

We will have to save for more blinds here but for the meantime they have been attached to the framework. Looks much better. The chairs stop them from blowing out.

That should help!! I remember long, hot days in TX and how closing the house down during the day kept it bearable!
I hope this doesn't turn up twice.... your awnings look very nice, and the grass is so green. Hope it keeps you all much cooler come summer.
