Completed Stitchery

I had a lovely day at Club Quilt on the weekend. Wow! Two weeks in a row!

I took this Cinderberry Stitchers Project (Blue Wrens Nest). Natalie has given us this pattern free on her blog. Loved the verigated threads.

This will turn into a pocket on a bag eventually but back to work for now.

My shoulders and back are so sore this morning, does that mean I've been stitching too much?

Now I've traced Leanne's House - Flowers & Flutterbuy panel. Stay tuned...

OPAM '10 - January No.3

My first LARGE project for January OPAM.

I started this project ages ago (in Winter I think) It's Leanne Beasley's Project from Homespun Vol 73 (10.6)

I loved the stitchery, it was so relaxing to do at night.....

The fabric is part of some freebies I bought home from Nundle last year, courtesy of Dale (Thanks so much)

So again I have "Used What I Have" to complete this project.

Now off to see what else I have to complete or get some more stitching done.

Use What You Have

Last year, Bec from "Oh Sew Busy" set herself a rule to "Buy No New Fabric" 'til the end of the year..... I agreed with her and followed in her footsteps.

I don't like New Year's Resolutions so I thought I'd make my own rule this year.

"Use what you already have"

I have that many patterns that I've never used/made up. I subscribe to Homemade, which has SO many wonderful patterns and I have SO many other sewing magazines to look through.

So my rule will be to use what patterns/projects I have or make things from what I have.
I think I can still do the "Buy No New Fabrics" too.

Let me know if you'd like to join me in this quest. Let me know how you are going with your rule through the year. I'll put a list on my sidebar so others can see what we are making with WHAT WE HAVE.

OPAM '10 - January No.2

I'm on a roll today but these are only little projects.

And I'm embarrassed to say that this stitchery was actually completed after "Girls Day in the Country Nundle March 2009". It shouldn't have taken me this long to get it completed. This is exactly why I'm participating in OPAM this year.

As I have just finished the Springberry Needlecase, I decided to turn Rosalie Quinlan's needlecase in to a much needed "Rewards Card Holder". The needlecase is quite large, so it's actually a great size to find in my handbag. Let's just hope I remember that I've moved things out of my wallet and into this great holder?

OPAM '10 - January Completed

I've joined the OPAM girls for 2010.

This is a great start. I've finished my January Project already.

I changed the attachment of the felt and sewed it in down the middle.

This is the little stitchery I started with the Club Quilt girls on Saturday.

I've had the morning to myself at home so I got straight in to finish it.

Now on to my February project.

Stitching Day - Trangie

I had the privilege of joining the Club Quilt girls in a stitching day at nearby Trangie.

We spent the day at Gai's Coffee Shop. Such a lovely relaxing day while Gai and her daughter waited on us. (Wonderful Food, Wonderful Service)

We stopped off at a Gift Shop first, where I picked up some supplies of Honey Mustard Dressing and Goats Milk Soap.

We also visited the local fabric shop where I found Metrosene thread that I've been after for a while and sewing machine needles.

Now back to the stitching.....

I traced this lovely free pattern by Cinderberry Stitches for the day. I got most of it done and am now I'm going to sit at home and finish it tonight.

I may even get it made into a needle holder tomorrow and this will be my
first project finished for the month as I've also joined OPAM 2010.

Thank you for a lovely day ladies..... It was great to catch up. Look forward to the year ahead where I intend on getting back to my stitching/sewing days again.

I was starting to panic that my Homespun magazine had got lost/stolen in the Christmas Postal Dispute.

But my magazine arrived today. I get so excited and motivated while browsing through.

First project I sighted was Rosalie Quinlans

Very cute Kira the Koala
