Cross-Stitch Sampler

I did it !!!!!

I've finished another project. (All bar the framing)

I started this lovely Cross-Stitch sampler a few weeks ago and it is now finished.

I think I will frame it for my niece who is due to have a baby in August. I think framing will keep it clean and she can either hang it or place it on a table etc.

I'm on to my next project already so stay tuned.

Generousity

This is what I was talking about in my "Giveaway" post.

After posting pictures of all the wonderful fabrics I received from my future SIL. Lynda recognised some of the Christmas fabric and asked if I would be interested in some matching fabric that she had. "Oh Yes Please"......
With all the Christmas craft I have in mind, any fabric is greatly appreciated.
Lynda used it in lots of her Christmas craft such as Angels. I would like
to use it with some Xmas Stitcheries I have in mind.
Thanks so much Lynda.

Disasterous Cooking

This is what happens when you haven't trained your daughter in the methods of cooking......

She will hate the fact that I am putting these photos on my blog.

Had to show you what disaster happened. She lined the loaf tin with grease-proof paper, she didn't need to, it was a non-stick tin.

Had to laugh when I saw how it had turned out and of course I just had to take photos....... Maybe for her 21st birthday party.

Time for a giveaway

I bought the latest copy of Homespun as I'm following the Breast of Friends BOM...... Not sure when I'll get to make any of them.

I also received another bonus copy and as I've been overwhelmed lately by the generosity of other Bloggers, I thought it was due time for a giveaway so what better giveaway then this beautiful Aussie Magazine. (BELOW)

This is the January 2009 Issue but doesn't include the Breast of Friends as it commenced in February.

Great projects are:-
Funky Kit Wall Hanging by Natalie Bird

Lots more great projects for the kids.
Also

I'll draw it next week and get it sent off to you, maybe with a little gift as well.

Note: Kerry is having a giveaway too and is trying to beat her highest comments received.

Spotlight Sale

It's always good when you work with someone that is interested in sewing as well.

I was told there was a sale at Spotlight for three days. I bought some polar fleece to back some quilt tops that I need to get finished. Always a cheap and easy way for me. They are warm and snuggly too.

We also found the bargin bin. I'm still thinking of Christmas projects so when I found these cute little Christmas buttons, I grabbed them. I have no idea what I'll use them in but I have them. Isn't that all that matters?

We have our Annual Show this weekend to so I'll try and snap some photos of craft/sewing & cooking in the pavilions.

I is for ???

I'm whipping up this Cross-Stitch sampler in no time.

I had started at the middle of the fabric and am now working my way up to the top and then down to the bottom.

As I'm stitching, I'm working out what each letter and picture stands for.....

I have to say, I was stumped at "I" so I had to ask for some help in this matter. It stands for Ivy. Did you guess that.

I can't wait to get back to the lounge each night to keep going with it......

I have a bit of work to finish now and hemming my daughter's trousers and then I'm straight back there.

Riding Weekend

What a weekend we had.....

Mother's Day for me was actually without my kids (which isn't so bad)

We had a lovely Adults weekend away on Motorbikes.

Six Bike (11 Adults)

We started from home at 9.30am Saturday and headed for Orange, Bathurst, Lucknow, Sofala, Mudgee......
We had a very eventful day with purchases from the Lucknow Skin Shop for James (Bike boots and Measured for a new Bike Jacket)
Then we got cuppas at a Cafe but they forgot our sandwiches so then it was a "not so healthy" meal at KFC in Bathurst.

We headed to Sofala on the very windy but beautiful scenery. Our 6 Harley's were passed by 2 very fast Ducati's only to be first on the scene as one that didn't make it around one of the corners and she lost control of her bike and landed in the guide rail. (She was ok but not a good feeling when you see them on the ground)
We stopped at the very pretty historical village of Sofala for a drink at the pub (we will definitely be back for a longer look around this little village)

Now you would think that accident would slow someone down (wouldn't you?)
No! We (and another couple) then got pulled over for speeding (just a warning PHEW!)
Our wonderful trip finished in Mudgee for the night where we quickly rested at the motel before heading to the pub for dinner and drinks.

Hungry Riders

Dessert was delicious (aparently)

Great Day! Great Trip! Great Weather! Great Company!

My Mother's Day started with a lovely cooked breakfast at one of Mudgee's many cafe's...... Yum Yum and I didn't have to wash up.

Now as for the trip home. Awwwwwwww my butt as so sore. We haven't got the best seat on the bike so I quickly made up a makeshift pillow which was wonderful on the first day but didn't help much on the second day. Just GET ME HOME. The afternoon was then spent having a nanny nap.

I can definitely recommend this road trip for anyone on a bike or in the car. Wish I had the camera out taking more photos. (Next Time)

Cross Stitch

Just a quick post as I should be getting ready for work..... NOW!

I started my cross-stitch project last night. Still have the binding to attach on my Xmas project but wanted to start this new project.

L = Lion, M = Moon, N = Nest

I love cross-stitch and it didn't take long to get this much done. I always start in the middle of the project and go from there.

I found the navy fabric very difficult to work with, with my bad eyes at night. I kicked the kids off my spot on the lounge and got my good lighting set up and I was there 'til 11pm. PHEW!

More updates later. Have a great day and weekend......

Christmas in May

As I worked from home yesterday, I got lots finished on the work front so this enabled me to get back to some sewing mid-week. Who's heard of this happening in my house?
I attached the backing to my Christmas wall hangings and then managed to put the binding on them as well.
So now I have TWO (2) Christmas projects finished and it's only May !!!!
WOW! I'm so impressed with myself.

Now I'm going to start a little cross-stitch project. I have navy blue aida and plan on using grey or white thread to stitch a baby project.

One of my first blogging friends Raesha sent me these lovely handmade cards as just a little thank you gift.

What a lovely surprise in the mailbox to receive something from Overseas USA.

The letter enclosed has beautiful poems/sayings.

Thank you Raesha xx

I must apologise.....

I have had the most busy week with work this week. BAS's to get finished, a clients computer crashed so I had to re-enter work, wages, paying accounts etc .....

So I have been looking around a few blogs this week but have not been commenting, so please know that I am still alive and kicking and keeping an eye on you but just haven't been telling you about it.

Have a great weekend and next week doesn't look like slowing up either. But the weekend will be going out, going to the movies (to drool over Hugh Jackman in Wolverine) and celebrating my Dad's birthday. Busy Busy Busy.... Will try and catch up next week. xx
